Astana Ski: Skiing Year Round

Unleashing the Thrill of Skiing in Any Season

Indoor ski center in Astana, designed by architect Tatyana Ozimuk

In a world where winter comes but once a year, sometimes we yearn for the coolness of snow even in the scorching summer months. Enter Astana Ski, a groundbreaking design that allows skiing enthusiasts to indulge in their passion year-round.

The brainchild of renowned architect Tatyana Ozimuk, Astana Ski is a one-of-a-kind indoor ski center that brings the joy of snow sports to a city with no natural mountain relief. The center features three different types of ski slopes catering to skiers of all skill levels. Beginners can enjoy the gentle slopes, while intermediate and advanced skiers can challenge themselves on more demanding trails.

The design of Astana Ski incorporates cutting-edge technology and materials to ensure a seamless skiing experience. The center is covered with a roof that allows natural light to filter through, creating an ambiance reminiscent of skiing in the great outdoors. The roof is made of silver aluminum panels, carefully selected to maintain a consistent temperature and humidity inside the facility. This ensures optimal skiing conditions and prevents deformation of the structure under the sun's rays.

With a capacity for 11,000 spectators, Astana Ski also provides stands for those who wish to watch the thrilling sporting events taking place on the slopes. Additionally, a hotel is integrated into the design, accommodating foreign athletes and visitors who come to experience the unique indoor ski center.

Astana Ski has not only revolutionized the way skiing is enjoyed in Kazakhstan but has also garnered international recognition. In 2014, it was awarded the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category. This accolade is a testament to the innovative and creative approach taken by Tatyana Ozimuk in bringing this extraordinary design to life.

Astana Ski stands as a symbol of progress and the relentless pursuit of pushing boundaries. It showcases the power of design to transform and enhance our lives, making the world a better place for all winter sports enthusiasts.
